NATHAN ASPINALL has eased fears over a recent injury scare despite pulling out of this week’s ProTour event to rest.
‘The Asp’ impressed on Night 11 of the Premier League in Rotterdam after he defeated Gerwyn Price 6-3 in the quarter-final.
Two-time major winner Aspinall averaged 97 and landed a 170 finish in a strong display.
World No. 8 Aspinall has been in fine form recently.
Last month, Aspinall claimed his first Euro Tour title at the European Darts Trophy in Göttingen.
He then followed this up by finishing runner-up at the International Darts Open.
Former UK Open champion Aspinall claimed victory on Night 10 of the Premier League in his home city of Manchester last week.
On Monday, he reached his first Players Championship final since August 2022, losing out to Damon Heta in Rosmalen.
The Stockport ace has now qualified as a seed to compete in the majors later this year.
And Aspinall admitted he feels rejuvenated and confident on the oche following his stellar run of form.
He said: “A whirlwind of a last two weeks. Getting over that line in Göttingen and winning my first Euro Tour title has transformed my season.
“I knew I would qualify for the World Grand Prix, possibly the Grand Slam, and definitely the European Championships.
“It has just given me a new lease of confidence.”
However, Aspinall has been managing a shoulder injury he recently picked up from the relentless darting schedule.
The 33-year-old revealed he is managing the niggle and insists it is nothing for fans to worry about.
He added: “I made the decision to pull out of the ProTour on Tuesday and give myself another day off.
“It’s still pretty bad but I don’t think it is anything serious. I pulled it a bit on Monday — hence why I played on treble 19s in the final.”
