CROSS: BEWARE OF FIRED-UP LITTLER!

ROB CROSS has told the Premier League field to BEWARE of a fired-up Luke Littler.
The former world champion believes that The Nuke will come roaring back from his opening night defeat to Gian van Veen.
Cross, 35, appeared at Ibrox with Josh Rock for the Rangers FC Charity Foundation on Friday night and reckons the teen sensation will come back all guns blazing.
He told Oche180: “All eyes are always on Littler. It has become a shock if he gets beaten.
“The strange thing is that everyone talks about in majors that the only chance to beat him is early in the short format.
“Yet no one mentions that when it comes to the Premier League.
“He’s played against the best players in the world for the last two years over a short format. Yet he’s reached both Premier League finals and won one of them. So he’s not that vulnerable over the short format is he!
“Luke won’t be bothered by his opening night defeat to Gian. But it might make him a bit more fired-up next week in Antwerp.
“Gian might just have made him more determined and he’ll probably go on a massive winning run now and they should beware of him.
“Luke faces Luke Humphries in Antwerp. This is a huge opportunity for the pressure to be applied on him if Humphries can beat him in the quarters and leave him pointless after two weeks. The pressure cranks up very quickly in the Premier League. That would make life interesting.”
Cross admits that he backed Michael van Gerwen to win the opening night and also believes that his stablemate Rock will thrive.
He added: “I had a feeling about Michael, he was due a good result.
“He’s clearly going through a lot so good on him, I’m pleased for him. Michael will only be bothered now about keeping this going, he’ll want that dominance he showed at his peak. That’s the standard he has set himself.
“I’m also confident that Rocky will find his feet. I don’t think he has a good record against Jonny (Clayton) but he still played well with an average of 102.
“He takes on Michael in Antwerp. There are no easy games but I feel this format works for him and he can get on a winning run.”
