BRAY LISTS MOUNT RUSHMORE OF REFS AND PREDICTS WORLD CHAMP WINNER
26/09/2025 By Aaron Nijjar
RUSS BRAY has revealed his Mount Rushmore of darts referees and says the sport is packed with talented officials ready to take over.
‘The Voice of Darts’ has worked as an official in the sport for nearly 30 years.
The raspy-voiced ref called 28 PDC World Championship finals and was inducted into the PDC Hall of Fame in 2024.
Bray picked himself among some of the sport’s most recognisable faces in his list.
He told the Weekly Dartscast: “George Noble would be on there. You’d certainly have to put Bruce Spendley on there.
“Tony Green, maybe, you know. So, there is only four on that one. Well, I’ve got me on.”
The 67-year-old then singled out the new generation who are already making a name for themselves.
He said: “The current crop of PDC referees, I think, are terrific. Kurt Bevins is an obvious choice.
“Huw Ware has come on leaps and bounds, absolutely fantastic.
“Charlie Corstorphine, he sort of stepped in, you know, followed me in. Fabulous, fabulous referees.
“So, we’ve got a good hardcore of referees here, and they’re all youngsters as well.
“So, you know, they’ve got many years ahead of them and they’ve all established their own particular style as well, which I think is very important.”
Bray even gave his view on who will win the 2026 World Championship and pocket the £1MILLION top prize.
He added: “I think over a long distance like that, current form where things are going, I reckon Luke Humphries.”
