DARTS ACE ADMITS WADE COULD BE PUNISHED AFTER FARTGATE

JAMES WADE may be punished by the PDC after another fart storm hit the oche.
‘The Machine’ let rip during his match with Peter Wright at Players Championship 17 in Leicester last week.
10-times major winner Wade also passed wind less than a year ago in September 2024 at a ProTour event.
Former pro Vincent van der Voort believes this time there will be consequences for Wade.
He told the Darts Draait Door podcast: “It would be right if he gets punished now.
“To do something like that twice? Then you’re just playing with it — you’re asking for trouble.
“It made me laugh, but it’s hardly a great advert for the sport. Not that Wade cares — what a character.”
Despite the controversy, Wade won his first title since 2022 at Players Championship 19.
The 42-year-old also reached the final of the UK Open earlier this year before losing out to Luke Littler.
Podcast host Damian Vlottes praised the Aldershot throwers serial winning consistency at the oche.
He added: “Impressive how long he’s been competing at the top.
“Has he ever dropped out of the top 32? I don’t think so.”
Van der Voort agreed: “On the contrary. He dips now and then, gets mad at himself, and next thing you know he’s back in the top 16.”
Wade is one of the all-time greats in the sport, he has remarkably reached the semi-finals of at least one TV major every year since 2005.
He has also hit four televised nine-dart finishes in his career, including at Ally Pally in 2020.
World No. 8 Wade has lifted the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix and Premier League during his illustrious career.
