DARTS ACE WARNS DIMI AT RISK OF LOSING TOUR CARD

MATT EDGAR believes Dimitri Van den Bergh is in real danger of losing his Tour Card as his form continues to nosedive.
‘The Dreammaker’ takes on Scotland’s Darren Beveridge in round one of the World Championship later this month but arrives at Ally Pally short on confidence and results.
World No 23 Van den Bergh has reached just one quarter-final on the ProTour all season, and played only three European Tour events, winning just a single match across the circuit.
The Belgian also failed to qualify for the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam and Players Championship Finals as his ranking continues to slide.
Former pro Edgar reckons Van den Bergh is one of the most vulnerable seeds in the entire Ally Pally draw.
He told OLBG: “Dimitri Van den Bergh for me is one of the most sitting seeds in the whole game.
“I think he is in trouble of losing his Tour Card. He is defending the UK Open money at the start of next year.
“He is playing nowhere near that sort of level of form.
“Yes, he reached a quarter-final of a ProTour recently but it opened up well for him. His best average was 90.59.
“Beveridge is playing better than that this season.”
Edgar believes the Ally Pally stage may not bring out the best in Van den Bergh either.
He added: “Obviously the big stage does come into play, but does Dimitri Van den Bergh actually be a different version of himself because he is not going up there regularly and full of confidence.
“He is maybe going up there thinking: ‘I do not know what to expect right now.’ If that is the case I think Beveridge could take him home.”
Van den Bergh last reached the World Championship semi-finals in 2023 but has suffered early exits over the past two years.
