GREAVES URGED TO SHOW SELF-BELIEF TO REACH TOP

SCOTT WILLIAMS has warned Beau Greaves that self-belief is the only thing stopping her from conquering darts.

Doncaster ace Greaves is already the dominant force in the women’s game, winning her NINTH straight Women’s Series title last week.

The 21-year-old’s triumph in Events 19 and 20 extended her incredible unbeaten streak on the circuit to 58 matches.

But while Williams sees greatness in her game, he admits the biggest hurdle may be mental rather than technical.

He said: “Beau is different in every sense of the darts world — she is unbelievable.

“But until she believes, she hasn’t got a chance in hell. That’s the mental side of the game.”

Former World Championship semi-finalist Williams says Greaves won’t fulfil her true potential until she decides whether to fully test herself against the men.

He added: “She is still not quite sure whether she wants to play against men professionally or carry on playing the women’s game. She knows the men’s game makes her better.

“She had a game against Josh Rock a few months ago on the ProTour where it went all the way to 5-5 and then she went out in 11 darts in the last leg.

“That shows how much of a good player she is if she wants it.

“But until she wants it, we will find out next year because I think she will be getting a Tour Card from the Development Tour.

“She is the best female player in the world. She is probably one of the best players in the world on her day.

“She just has to give herself the confidence and the want to do it and I think she will be absolutely fine.”
