LITTLER BOO BOYS BLASTED AFTER STAR BREAKS DOWN IN TEARS

LUKE LITTLER’S boo boys should “hang their heads in shame” after the teenage superstar was reduced to tears.
That is the view of Sky Sports commentator Stuart Pyke following Littler’s emotional Premier League title triumph at the O2 Arena.
The Warrington wonderkid claimed a second Premier League crown in just three years after edging out Luke Humphries 11-10 in a thrilling final.
But Littler’s post-match television interview was cut short when he broke down on stage while reflecting on the abuse he had received throughout the 17-week roadshow season.
The 19-year-old later admitted he had even considered walking away from the sport after being subjected to heckles and jeers at several venues, including Brighton, Rotterdam, Liverpool, Aberdeen and Leeds.
Pyke blasted those responsible and insisted they should be ashamed of their behaviour.
He told the Love the Darts Podcast: “[Littler’s social media treatment] made me really angry, on his behalf.
“You can see things and it just resonates for a while. But the little haters and hecklers should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and they should hang their heads in shame.
“At the end of the day, you know, he’s 19 years old. Yes, he’s made a couple of mistakes on the stage. So what?
“It’s like following sheep. One crowd does it so the next crowd thinks, ‘well, we have to do it. Aren’t we being clever?’
“No, you’re being idiots, you’re being really unfair, and you’re being really cruel to a guy who’s come along with an amazing talent and changed this sport forever.
“Just let him be. Enjoy him. Enjoy what he’s offering.
“160,000 people bought Premier League tickets this year and a lot of them will have come to see Luke Littler.
“So what on earth are they doing?”
The world No.1 has already won the World Masters, UK Open and Premier League to add to his second PDC World Championship title, collecting £1.63million in prize money along the way this year.
