LUKE LITTLER admitted he was lazy after delivering one of the best displays of his career!

The teen sensational whitewashed James Wade 4-0 without conceding a leg in the World Masters on Saturday.

In a pre-match interview it was suggested that Wade had claimed that the 18-year-old was not the hardest worker on the practice board.

Littler responded: “I didn’t see it but he’s right, I am lazy in the practice room.

“I don’t have to practice for hours and hours. You know yourself as a player when you’ve practised for that long, you are warmed up and ready to go.”

On smashing the 10-times major winner, Littler added: “I knew that he didn’t hit a double. I didn’t know he hadn’t had a shot at a double.

“I was over more than 15 over him in the averages and that just goes to show how well I played.

“Obviously I’d love to pick up the trophy. I want to win any trophy or any title.

“I’d say it’s probably one of the best performances. Obviously the World Championship final was the best.

“But if you look at the stats, James Wade is no mug. I didn’t let him get a shot at a double.

“Sometimes I do surprise myself. Then again I can look at myself and go you’ve got the game to do it. You are world champion, you can beat anyone.”

Littler also has his eye on new goals including wins in the World Matchplay and Grand Prix.

He said: “I don’t really know. There were a few early exits in the majors. So obviously this year I want to go one better.

“Get a win at the Matchplay, European and Grand Prix. That was a big learning curve for myself. I know what to expect when I go to those venues.”

The Nuke also scarily believes that his game can improve further. He said: “That’s obviously what I want to do. I’ve averaged 100 or 100-plus every game. With this format you can easily do it. It’s very short and it’s very quick.”

He also added he loves watching the game, adding: “Especially watching Michael van Gerwen’s walk-on. Everyone in here, they love it. I’m still a fan.”
