LUKE LITTLER admits his head was “gone” before climbing back off the canvas to win Night Seven of the Premier League.
World No.1 Littler roared back from 5-0 and survived multiple match darts to defeat Gerwyn Price 6-5 in the final at Dublin.
‘The Nuke’ even waved goodbye to the crowd after taking his first leg against Price in the showpiece at the 3Arena.
The Warrington whizkid claimed his second nightly win of the tournament, closing the gap to just three points on leader Jonny Clayton.
He said: “I know as much as them — I have no idea how I have done that. I said to Wayne [Mardle] there, I was gone.
“Obviously, first leg I had a bit of fun, hit a 180 and waved them goodbye because when Gerwyn Price is usually on tops, he doesn’t miss.
“I was so gone. I may as well have been off the stage. This is darts — things happen.
“I played very well against Stephen [Bunting] and got the two points. I had another brilliant game against Michael [van Gerwen].
“Then the final, I have nothing to say. I am just closing that gap on Jonny. I have finished top the last two years and I want to do it again.
“It’s good to see I am in second, but I am right behind him now and I will go chasing.”
Littler averaged a stellar 105.07 and fired in a 107 checkout to see off Stephen Bunting 6-3 in the quarter-final.
The teen sensation then survived three match darts in an absolute thriller against Michael van Gerwen, with both players landing the Big Fish, before edging out a dramatic 6–5 win.
Price extended Josh Rock’s winless run to SEVEN matches with a whitewash victory.
The Welshman reeled off six legs on the spin and averaged a whopping 109.04 to dispatch Luke Humphries 6-1 in the semi-final.
Humphries ended Clayton’s unbeaten run in the last eight, delivering an impressive performance with a 103.44 average to secure a convincing 6–3 triumph.
