CHRIS DOBEY REVEALS NEWCASTLE TATTOO AFTER DAN BURN HEROICS

Published 8 July 2026

Chris Dobey has called on Newcastle United defender Dan Burn to start against Norway and Erling Haaland in the FIFA World Cup and spoke about watching England's 2am epic against Mexico despite prepping for a Players Championship.

"He's [Dan Burn] a great lad. It's great that he's getting a chance in the England squad so late on in his career.

"I'm hoping he can get the start and be that one to come up against Haaland and keep him out the game.

"He's scored a couple of memorable goals for Newcastle, obviously the cup final goal against Liverpool which I've now got gladly tattooed on my leg.

"I went to sleep before the Brazil game hoping that I would wake up for the England game. I woke up 20 minutes into it.

"I watched it so I'd seen the two goals for England in the first half and then they conceded, fell back asleep at half time and woke up as Harry Kane was celebrating his goal.

"I went to sleep, just try to prepare right for the darts and watched the highlights in the morning. I didn't even realise we had one sent off as well."
