Debutant Heine Uuldriks shocks Ricardo Pietreczko in Dutch Darts Championship
Published 16 October 2026
Home hero Heine Uuldriks had total faith ahead of his dream debut on the Euro Tour.
The dazzling debutant was magic in Maastricht as he produced a sizzling fightback to dump Ricardo Pietreczko in a last-leg shootout.
Uuldriks trailed 3-0 to the German as his bow on the Euro Tour stage looked to be turning sour, but, with the backing of the local fans, he roared back to triumph.
The Netherlands ace cracked a bull finish to win the deciding leg and seal a 6-5 victory which sent the Dutch crowds wild with delight.
Uuldriks admitted after the match that, despite friends telling him just to savour the occasion as a first-timer, he felt the could get the job done.
He explained: "It was my first time and everyone said enjoy, enjoy, but only I think that I will win. Pietreczko played fantastic in the first games, but, after that, I take it over. Unbelievable."
Uuldriks will now face Brendan Dolan in the next round after the veteran was drafted into the tournament line-up due to the late withdrawal of Rob Cross.
It was a sickener for Pietreczko as he made his return to the Euro Tour for the first time since the end of May after his issues with dartitis, but the Dutch fans got the win they wanted and their afternoon was completed by Dirk van Duijvenbode dishing out a 6-1 defeat to James Hurrell.
