Littler on the verge of £3million history

Published 23 July 2026

LUKE LITTLER admits he can get even BETTER as he continues his charge towards a record-breaking World Matchplay title triumph.

The world No1 averaged a whopping 109.57 and smashed in SEVENTEEN 180s to dispatch Josh Rock 16-7 in their quarter-final clash.

Littler, 19, is on course to complete an unprecedented clean sweep of all the major titles this season.

The teen sensation boasts a flawless semi-final record, winning all 17 of his previous clashes ahead of his showdown with Dirk van Duijvenbode.

If The Nuke defeats the Dutchman he will become the FIRST £3million player in the sport.

He said: "Another brilliant game for myself. I've gone 109, 113, 109 again [averages] so I've just got to keep it going.

"Fair play to Josh. He gave me a really good game there. I think it was the third session where I won all five legs.

“Kind of got myself into that lead and I just had to stay there and got the job done.

“If things go to plan I can afford to miss a few doubles because the performance is there.

"As long as I'm playing well and practising it can [get better].”

Littler can open a gap of over £2million on his close rival Luke Humphries if he retains the Phil Taylor trophy.
