Menzies backed to break into top 10 of Order of Merit
Published 4 September 2026
CAMERON MENZIES has been backed to break into the world’s top 10.
The world No26 has excelled on the ProTour since 2024 and has picked up three titles during that time.
Menzies, 37, also reached his first European Tour semi-final earlier this year at the International Darts Open before losing 7-0 to Ross Smith.
The Ayrshire thrower then produced the biggest win of his career at the World Matchplay in July when he stunned Luke Humphries 10-7, before being forced to withdraw from the tournament due to health issues.
Former pro Colin Lloyd believes Menzies has what it takes to establish himself among the world's elite.
He told [BestBettingSites.co.uk](https://www.bestbettingsites.co.uk/): “He's class, but I don't know about top three. He could definitely be in the top 10.
“He's a very, very good player, Cammy. He's a very heavy hitter. He scores very, very heavily.
“And when he's clicking out his doubles, he reminds me actually of someone like Gary Anderson.
“I don't mean it in the fact that they're both Scottish and all stuff like that. Gary Anderson has always been a fantastic dart player, always scores heavy. But in the early part of his career, his doubling used to let him down.
“He still won events, but he could have won so, so much more if he'd hit his doubles. And Gary openly admits that.
“But then all of a sudden, when the game came together, back-to-back world champion, winner of numerous other titles worldwide, one of the most feared dart players in the world. And a household name.”
But Lloyd warned Menzies must keep his temperament in check if he is to take his game to the next level.
Cammy has become known for his eccentric antics, including punching a table at last year’s World Championship and rolling around on the floor at the European Darts Trophy after missing a double.
He added: "I don't think Cammy can achieve what Gary's done, but he can certainly put himself in the frame where people are talking about him and talking about him all for the right reasons for being a great dart player.
“He's not a bad lad, is Cammy. He's one of the nicest fellas you'll ever meet in your life. He's always got time for the fans. He's always signing autographs, always standing there smiling and whatever. He never just walks past someone.
“So, as a dart player, he's very, very good. But like you say, you can always give people advice, but ultimately, you have to do it yourself.
“You have to control your emotions, and when you get opportunities you have to grab them yourself, because no one's going to grab them for you, and that's what Cammy's got to do.”
