Paxton reveals bizarre moment he helped Gary Anderson pay for parking

ADAM PAXTON has revealed the surreal moment he went from idolising Gary Anderson to helping him pay for parking.
The world No98 has endured a steady season with his best results coming from reaching the last 32 of two Players Championship events.
Paxton, 26, earned his Tour Card at the start of 2025 after showcasing his impressive talents at UK Q-School.
The Nuneaton thrower recalled making his ProTour debut with his nerves eased by a bizarre encounter with two-time world champ Anderson.
He told Oche180: “Even going back to when I won my week at Modus, I said I'm a darts fan.
“Even in December, before I won my Tour Card, I was supporting them at the World Championships.
“I had my favourite players. At the Modus, they said from a fanboy to a winner because I am.
“I remember the first ProTour up in Wigan. I parked up in the car park and then went to go and pay for the ticket.
“Then I was stood there with Gary Anderson, who is my idol, struggling to work the parking ticket machine!
“So, I then had to help him out. So I have gone from being a newbie, making my debut on the ProTour, walking in all scared and nervous.
“I am meeting my idol outside, helping him pay for his parking. It was quite surreal.
“It was very strange. Then you walk into the room. I’ve been in PDC environments for the best of ten years now.
“But just to walk in there and there are players you have idolised on tele and I think I buy your darts and have your shirt, that is the weirdest part.”
Paxton has already shone on the amateur circuit, winning Week Seven of the Modus Super Series in 2024, after beating Mike Warburton 4-3 in the final.
He returns to action on the 22nd September at Players Championship 29 in Den Bosch.
