Rob Cross admits 'MASSIVE CHANCES' lie ahead to stop Luke Littler but warns of 'RUNAWAY FREIGHT TRAIN'
Published 12 August 2026
Rob Cross believes Luke Littler's clean sweep dream can be stopped but admitted The Nuke is almost unbeatable in long formats.
"It's about taking your chances and try and send them to somewhere where they don't want to be.
"Years ago when you played Michael [van Gerwen] he had such a threshold and it was like a game of tennis.
"One dart sometimes is good enough in a leg to win and if you miss it you know it's potentially a runaway or a freight train.
"I always like to try and get them thinking and you can drag a bit of overtime into it where that game's getting a bit closer towards the end and try and pick the pieces up there.
"That's how I done it with Michael when I won in the Worlds. It was nip and tuck all the way.
"Littler on the first to ten, maybe there was a chance. Once he hit 16 that was it. No one was living over that many legs.
"We're going to go into other tournaments, we're going to have shorter formats. Set play comes in and all, set play's a totally different game.
"I think there's chances, massive chances there for players coming up in the next few tournaments."
Rob Cross was speaking exclusively with Oche180.
