Taylor believes Luke Littler should have “gotten better”

PHIL TAYLOR believes Luke Litter should have “gotten better” during his glitzy Netflix TV show.
The 16-times world champion admits he was pleased to see Fallon Sherrock beat The Nuke to take home the £501,000 jackpot on Friday night in Manchester.
But The Power reckons that the teen sensation should have improved as the rounds went on before losing out to the 15th challenger
Taylor was one of the judges in the audition process that saw thousands queue for hours for a shot at the live show.
Taylor told talkSPORT: “I enjoyed it. Some of the players were very nervous in the earlier rounds
“Fallon was brilliant and it's changed the young girl's life, which I'm really, really pleased about.
“All this doom and gloom every time you pick the newspapers up. Now, this young girl has a young son, she can buy herself a house, rent-free for the rest of her life, no mortgages, which is brilliant. I love winners anyway.”
In the odd stop-start one-leg format, Littler was rarely at his best apart from two stunning legs with a 158 finish against Jayden Walker and 142 kill over Zac Griffiths.
Taylor believes that Littler should have improved as the night progressed.
He added: “I'm being honest with you now, if anything, Luke should have gotten better. I would have got better on the fifth [match].
“If you're going to beat me or Adie [Adrian Lewis], you're going to have to do early doors because we get stronger. So Fallon's done really, really well there.
“I was at the pre-show, one of the judges with Barry (Hearn) and Laura (Turner), and we could see out the window, it was raining, and the queues were massive, seriously, like a football match.
“They stood there in the rain all day, and so did Fallon. She had to earn a place as well, and she did it. She came in and she hit the double.
“She says, ‘I was so lucky to qualify’. And she's come through and won. I'm dead proud.”
