SCOTT WILLIAMS says JaackMaate has opened darts up to a whole new audience after sponsoring him.

Williams, 36, has become the first professional darts player to partner with Happy Hour.

The podcast boasts a whopping 781,000 subscribers on YouTube, while JaackMaate’s personal channel has a remarkable 1.32million subscribers.

Shaggy believes the deal has already helped him reach fans who would not normally follow the sport.

He told Oche180: “Jack's awesome. I've known him for a couple of years, I've watched and listened to his podcast religiously over the last few years.

“To have him come to me and message me and say he's interested and he wants to have a chat about this and that.

“I absolutely love it and we sat down and we had a chat and then I did his podcast.

“He's got so many fans that aren't included in darts. I've had so many people message me like, 'when is this shirt available because we want the logo, we want a shirt with the logo on'.

“Having Jack with such a wide spectrum of visual and audio listeners, it's great to have someone like him in my corner.”

JaackMaate, whose real name is Jack Dean, was ranked No.88 in The Sunday Times’ list of the UK’s 100 most influential online creators in 2019.

The internet personality has amassed more than 446 million views online and has interviewed oche stars including Nathan Aspinall, Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen.

Williams returns to action on the 22nd September at Players Championship 29 in Den Bosch.

Scott Williams is an ambassador for Target Darts, who we spoke to at the Target and Powerleague partnership launch.
