Luke Humphries has rapidly risen to prominence as one of the most consistent and talented players in professional darts. His father, a Leeds United FC fan, named him Luke as an acronym for “Leeds United, Kings of Europe”. Humphries is also a fan of the team. He is currently ranked world number one and has won seven PDC majors in the span of 16 months. In his youth career, Humphries won the 2019 PDC World Youth Championship and 11 PDC Development Tours, making him one of the most successful players in the history of the PDC’s youth system. Off the stage, Humphries is recognised for his humility and grounded personality. ‘Cool Hand’ is a great flag bearer and role model for the sport. For instance, after winning the 2024 World Championship, he personally congratulated retiring referee Russ Bray, acknowledging Bray’s contributions to the sport.
