PRICE APOLOGISES TO LITTLER AFTER BIG FISH CELEBRATION

GERWYN PRICE apologised to Luke Littler after a fiery Big Fish celebration appeared to anger the teenage star.
World No.1 Littler reached the final for a THIRD consecutive year since making his Premier League debut in 2024 after edging past the Iceman 10-9 in a nail-biting affair.
But Price threatened a huge comeback after battling back from 9-4 down in the contest.
The Nuke was not pleased with Price’s antics during leg 15 as the Welshman hit a 170 and walked off by reeling in the Big Fish.
Yet as Price celebrated to the 16,000 fans inside the O2, he was still in Littler’s line of vision.
Littler then complained to referee Huw Ware as he picked his darts out the board on the next visit.
When the leg ended, Ware went over to Price and appeared to tell him he should not have celebrated like that while play was ongoing.
Price, 41, then walked over to Littler and appeared to apologise, with the pair sharing a hug before the start of leg 16.
Littler accepted the apology and eventually held his nerve to seal victory, despite Price reeling off five consecutive legs to force a dramatic decider.
Littler later reacted to his triumph and said: “It was a weird game up until the first break.
“Obviously, Gezzy had changed his rhythm and his throw was a bit slower.
“For the first leg, I was trying to get used to it. Then going up 6-4 at the break was crucial.
“I came flying out after, but that was a big hole for him to get out of.
“The adrenaline has definitely gone, so I need a little bit more for the final.
“All of yesterday, I was just saying I wanted to get into three finals in a row, just like the World Championships.
“I’ve done it and I feel like it is mine to lose now.”
Price wrote in an Instagram post: “Oh well, on we go. Not sharp enough when it mattered.
“Tough, long campaign this year but enjoyed every minute of it.
“Thanks everyone once again for showing me the utmost respect and support all the way through. Week off then back on the wagon we go.”
