PRICE BUYS FARM AND TEASES TV SERIES

GERWYN PRICE has revealed plans for a possible TV series after buying a farm.
The former world champion has purchased a small holding in Treharris and admitted cameras could soon be rolling as he begins a major renovation project.
World No.12 Price was quick to dismiss comparisons with Jeremy Clarkson and his hit series Clarkson’s Farm.
Price confirmed the project will take time, with a long-term plan firmly in place.
He told the Tops and Tales podcast: “I’ve just bought a farm. That’s in Treharris. There might be a series on it. I think a documentary, or maybe a TV channel coming in and filming.
“Not like Clarkson’s Farm or something. Just for the renovation side of it.
“It’s going to be out there soon. But if not, then I’ll probably end up doing something like this and chucking it on YouTube from start to finish.
“It’s going to take 12–18 months to get everything sorted before we actually move on.
“I just can’t wait for it to be complete. It’s something that I have always wanted — just a bit of a smallholding.
“Something out of the way a little bit so I can have a bit of privacy.
“When I retire, I’ll probably run it as a decent farm.
“But I’m probably going to lease most of the land out and have some chickens and some of the little animals — just for now.”
The Markham thrower explained the move was driven by a need for privacy after living next door to his fish and chip shop brought some unwanted attention.
He added: “I probably shouldn’t, but people were like, ‘Oh, are you building a fish and chip shop right next door to your house?’
“I was like, perfect — out the door, in, get some chips and back in the house.
“But it does bring the negatives, where there are a lot of people around there, obviously, which is good for the business.
“Then I have people knocking on my door and walking up my drive, and I just think I need to move myself away a little bit from the business, which is going to be a nice farm.”
