WARE REVEALS CRAZY LINK TO GAVIN & STACEY!

HUW WARE revealed his auntie lived opposite the house made famous by Gavin & Stacey.

The PDC referee recalled the moment Barry was turned upside down when cameras arrived for the BBC smash hit.

Ware, who is from the seaside town, explained his nan’s sister lived on Trinity Street, right in the heart of where the show was shot.

The Welshman admits he had no idea the series would go on to become one of the most beloved comedies on British television.

He told talkSPORT: “I remember being in my nan’s sister’s house on Trinity Street and she said to us, ‘Oh, they’re going to start filming a new TV show across the road in a couple of weeks.’

“We all thought, ‘Oh, that’s very exciting,’ because nothing like that ever happened in Barry.

“Turns out it was Gavin and Stacey, so my auntie lives opposite Stacey and Gwen’s house.

“She lives next door to Bryn on the other side.

“One of the Christmas specials, they knocked on my nan’s sister’s door and said, ‘Would you mind if we put up some Christmas decorations in the middle of the house?’

“It was in the middle of July and they paid them a bit of money to do that. They said, ‘Yeah, sure, no problem.’

“When Gavin and Stacey first went out, all of us in Barry tuned into BBC Three just to see Barry on television.

“We had no idea what the show was going to be like.”

Ware made history by becoming the first openly gay referee to take charge of a World Championship final, officiating the 2025 showpiece clash between Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen.
