WEBER CLAIMS BIZARRE AIRBNB RITUAL BEHIND GERMAN DARTS SUCCESS

LEON WEBER has revealed the secret ingredient behind German darts success is SOUR CREAM.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a steady start to the season, winning two Development Tour titles and reaching the quarter-finals of Players Championship Eight.
The world No.81 believes a bizarre pre-tournament ritual is actually helping performances on the oche.
Weber explained how the tradition began while staying in AirBnBs with fellow rising stars Niko Springer and Max Czerwinski during ProTour events.
He told the Weekly Dartscast: “That’s just a meme in the German darts community because, at the start of the Pro Tours, Niko, Max and me, we were always staying together in AirBnBs.
“I don’t know why, but every time Niko made sour cream — he’s a good cook, just to say that.
“Every time he made sour cream, I don’t know why, but all of us played very well the next day.”
The superstition quickly took off after the trio realised they always seemed to play better whenever the dip was on the menu.
He added: “It’s just become a meme because from then on, we made it very often.
“So, we had to because we thought maybe it could help us perform.
“We had a Bulls meeting from our sponsor Bulls in Germany and we were making content for Instagram videos and stuff like that.
“Niko was like, it was an idea to make a sour cream tasting video.
“I think it was Niko’s girlfriend. She went to McDonald’s and bought like 20 sour creams just to bring to the tasting.
“And then we didn’t even make that video, so they had like 20 sour creams left in their fridge.
“So that was also a thing and I think that’s why it became such a meme for us.”
