WRIGHT FEARS WEIGHT LOSS HAS BLUNTED HIS THROW

PETER WRIGHT has shed an incredible THREE stone though it may have taken a toll on his darts.
Two-times World Champ Wright has been eating just one meal a day to slim down and now feels “amazing” both physically and mentally.
But the Scot admits the weight loss has led to him losing “power” in his throw with his arrows not landing as cleanly as he wants.
PDC commentator Dan Dawson revealed he spoke with Wright about his incredible fitness transformation.
He said: “The old Peter Wright is one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen.
“I was talking to him yesterday and asked him about the weight loss — he reckons he’s shifted three stone.
“He says he’s done it by having just one meal a day.
“But he also admits he feels like he’s lost some of the power in his throw.
“Physically and mentally, though, he says he feels amazing — so much better.
“We’ve already seen what losing weight did for Luke Humphries. He became a far better player.
“Humphries admits that getting fitter was the main reason why he turned into a Euro Tour monster and then a dominant world champion.
“But Peter says he’s just lost a little bit of power, and the darts aren’t landing the way he wants.”
‘Snakebite’ has endured a difficult campaign and collapsed down the rankings to No.16 with his form off and results wayward.
Eight-times major winner Wright was dumped out in round three of the Czech Open last week after losing 6-5 to Stephen Bunting.
Wright had been 5-3 up and even missed a match dart at tops before suffering yet another major stumble this season.
