LITTLER AND HUMPHRIES ‘CUDDLE AND KISS’ AS RIVALRY DISMISSED

LUKE LITTLER and Luke Humphries will “cuddle and kiss” instead of creating a fierce rivalry, claims ex-pro Matt Edgar.
‘The Nuke’ and Humphries have faced off in SEVEN major finals since 2024, with Humphries winning three and Littler claiming four.
World No. 1 Littler came out on top in their most recent showdown at the World Masters, before Humphries went on to label the teenage sensation “the greatest darts player ever” in the post-match interview.
Edgar believes the sport is crying out for needle between its two biggest stars, but says there is “no rivalry” due to mutual respect.
He told the Mission Darts Podcast: “Would you be bored of [the Premier League} if, at the start of the tournament, Luke Littler came out and goes, ‘I’m the best player in the world.’
“‘There’s no dart player on this planet who can touch me. You think Luke Humphries is going to beat me? Over this campaign, I’m going to smash him every week.’
“Then Luke Humphries goes, ‘I tell you what, mate, when we go head to head, you ain’t beating me at all. Like, I’m going to get a better head-to-head record against you.’
“And all throughout, you were like, ‘Who’s going to get the upper hand?’ But the problem is, they’ll cuddle and kiss each other. There’s no rivalry.”
The lethal Lukes go head-to-head on Night Two of the Premier League this Thursday in Antwerp, Belgium.
