ANDERSON NOT TAKING AIM AT ANGRY GINGE

GARY ANDERSON was NOT aiming his explosive rant about darts influencers at Angry Ginge.
The two-time world champ unleashed verbals on the growing band of YouTubers getting involved in the sport as a “load of b******s” and “t*****s.”
But it has since been clarified that Anderson was not taking aim at The king of the Jungle.
Darts content creator Charlie Murphy addressed the controversy and revealed Ando’s comments were actually referring to a smaller creator.
He told the DoubleTops podcast: “To be honest, it’s a smaller creator. I don’t think it’d be fair to say who.
“I think what he said probably has a little bit of an aspect to a lot of people like myself and other people.
“But I also think that some of the things he said might not quite be right. But then a lot I do agree with. He’s done more for darts than us creators will ever do. He’s a two-time world champion.”
Murphy made it clear he has huge respect for Anderson’s achievements but insisted content creators have a valid role to play in helping grow and modernise the sport.
He added: “Yeah, so I don’t agree with the bit he said about telling people how to play, because most people don’t. And he also mentioned saying you need expensive darts. You don’t need expensive darts.
“And no one actually says that, you know, from what I’ve seen. He’s been so good and he’s been at the top of the game, so he’s got the right to make these comments.
“But there is a space for creators to make darts content because it does elevate darts. If people disagree with that, that’s fine, but it’s there.”
