VAN GERWEN BACK IN ACTION AFTER HEALTH SCARE

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN is set to make his return to the Premier League after missing several tournaments due to illness.
‘Mighty Mike’ pulled out of FOUR events, including last week’s Premier League fixture, along with the Poland Masters, Players Championship Four and Five.
World No.4 Van Gerwen is set to face Gerwyn Price on Night Four in Belfast and currently sits second in the table.
Van Gerwen has been dealing with a health issue, although he has not publicly disclosed the exact nature of the problem.
He told AD.nl: “I’m feeling much better, but I was really poorly.
“I’ll be there on Thursday. Tomorrow I’m flying to Northern Ireland. I’m not completely fit yet, but fit enough.”
The Dutchman took a –6 leg difference in Glasgow last week as he was unable to compete against Luke Littler.
But Van Gerwen has been in flying form this season winning the Bahrain Masters and making the final of the inaugural World Series event in Saudi Arabia.
MVG has also reached a semi-final and quarter-final in the opening two ProTour events of the year.
