LITTLER EXTENDS UNBEATEN RUN IN WIEZE

LUKE LITTLER poked fun at a Liverpool fan after storming into round three of the Belgian Darts Open.

The teen sensation thrashed Boris Krcmar 6-2 with a stunning 104.70 average in Wieze. 

‘The Nuke’ also smashed in another dominant display to extend his unbeaten run at the venue to 12 matches, having claimed back-to-back titles over the past two years. 

World No.1 Littler is also yet to taste defeat on the European Tour this season, having lifted the Poland Masters crown. 

Despite the convincing win, Littler admitted there is still more to come from his game. 

He said: “It could have been a lot better. As my first round games go here, it always goes to plan, so on to tomorrow. 

“I love it here, my first European Tour was here. I am here to defend it again and I want to win it again. 

“Performances like that put me up there. Obviously coming off the back of that win in Ireland, it has set me up right.” 

Littler was also in a playful mood after the match when told Belgium’s national football team are nicknamed the Red Devils.

He added: “I didn’t know that. There is a lot of United fans here. I know there is one Liverpool fan on the walk-on. I said you got beat 2-1 today.” 

Littler returns to action on Sunday afternoon and will face Niels Zonneveld for a place in the quarter-final. 

He continued: “I always check the results before I play. He is playing really well, but I am stood in his way and I will definitely be on my A-game tomorrow.”
