HETA TELLS DARTS STARS TO GET ON WITH IT AMID TRAVEL CHAOS

25/03/2026 By Aaron Nijjar

DAMON HETA has DRIVEN to Euro Tour events and told fellow pros to “get on with it” amid travel complaints.

Top names have voiced their frustration after nightmare journeys to last weekend’s Belgian Darts Open.

British players have been unable to use EU passport e-gates and instead face long queues for manual checks.

World No.15 Nathan Aspinall wrote on social media: “Another week, another Euro Tour, another f*** off wait to get through passport [control].”

Former Premier League champ Jonny Clayton posted: “Two-hour wait in Brussels Airport, this could be the last European Tour of the year!”

But Heta explained that he has been travelling by car between tournaments and believes such challenges are simply part of life on tour.

He told the Love the Darts Podcast: “Probably just need a Wham Burger or some French Cries or something. I don’t know. Just get on with it.

“It is what it is at the end of the day. You’re playing darts and you’re traveling, and that’s all part of it, isn’t it? Where me, on the other hand, I ended up driving.

“I went from one Euro tour to another, and then on the way, it just made sense to drive for myself and just did a little trip along the way and visited some friends.

“Just made a good time of it, I guess. So, yeah, I don’t know, you just got to look at it more of a positive sense and just, like I said, just get on with it, I think.”

‘The Heat’ has shown signs of returning to form in recent weeks after reaching the semi-finals of the Poland Masters.

The Australian has struggled to produce his best on the big stage, however, failing to reach a major quarter-final in over a year.

Heta admitted he is no longer satisfied with simply competing and is determined to turn his hard work into results.

He added: “I’ve probably just kept the same goals for the last couple of years now, where I want to be and what I have set in place for myself.

“There was one thing I said at the start of the year, it was at the Masters, and it just doesn’t sit right with me at the moment.

“I said something like I was very content being a darts player and that life’s great, and it doesn’t matter if you’re winning.

“Not that it doesn’t matter, but I was happy with where I am — it just doesn’t sit right with me.

“I’m not content because I work so hard and I do so much in darts and outside of darts, just trying to make everything better.

“I need these results to come, so it pays off — all this hard work pays off. But at the moment, the results just aren’t coming as much as I would like them to.

“It just makes me a bit hungrier and a bit keener, and that’s where I’m at the moment. But I’ve got my list of goals, and hopefully it all pulls through in the end.”
