ROCK SPEARHEADS DREAM PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS FOOTBALL TEAM

JOSH ROCK would be like a ‘little rat’ spearheading a Premier League darts stars eight-a-side team.

Wolves forward Adam Armstrong teamed up with Ladislav Krejčí and presenter JaackMaate to put together a dream darts squad in a 2-3-1-2 formation.

The trio combined power, grit and creativity in their selections, building a side packed with big personalities and contrasting styles.

Armstrong told the Double Tops Podcast: “I think you’ve got to put big [Stephen] Bunting at the back, haven’t you? Sticking him in at centre back.”

Luke Humphries was also selected in defence, with the world No.2 trusted to provide composure and stability at the backline.

Premier League footballer Armstrong then turned to his midfield, selecting Gerwyn Price for his powerful frame, rugby background and booming celebrations that bring an intimidating presence.

He added: “Someone’s going to take control of the game. I think we’ll put Price in there, you know. A bit of grit as well. He is a fighter.”

Jaackmaate chose Price’s Welsh compatriot Jonny Clayton to join him in the centre of the field and continued: “I mean, the Ferret, he’s small, he’s nippy. Is he going to go for the overlaps and all that?”

Armstrong maintained the importance of having a big man in the middle to control play: “Clayton and [Gian] Van Veen. Bit of height in there as well.

“I think we put Rock up top. I just think he’d be a little rat running about. Aggressive as well. Always looking angry.”

Krejčí then added some creativity to the side, suggesting teenage sensation Luke Littler could pull the strings.

“Maybe we can make a creative ten of Littler. Up front MVG.”
