LITTLER TIPPED TO DEFEAT MO FARAH IN VIRAL CHALLENGE

LUKE LITTLER has been backed to beat Sir Mo Farah in a bizarre hypothetical half marathon.

The viral debate imagines the reigning PDC world champion taking on the four time Olympic gold medallist in a 13.1 mile race with a unique twist.

After every mile, both competitors would have to stop and complete a 501 darts finish before continuing.

Despite Farah being one of Britain’s greatest ever distance runners, several darts figures believe Littler would comfortably come out on top because of the huge difference in ability on the dartboard.

Speaking on the Double Tops podcast, pundit Laura Turner believes the statistics strongly favoured the teenage sensation.

She said: “Well I’ve kind of looked at the stats and all the kind of math.

“It just looks like Littler every time because ultimately the time it takes him to check out 501 say at worst just 15 or 18 darts.”

Presenter Anna Woolhouse then revealed Littler did not even think he would need to run.

She added: “He also said he’ll walk the mile didn’t he. He’s not even saying he’ll run it, he’ll walk it.”

Turner replied: “I don’t think he needs to.”

PDC chief executive Matt Porter also backed Littler and claimed poor darts ability could cost Farah huge amounts of time throughout the race.

He said: “We see this a lot when we do celebrity stuff. Some celebrity darts is so bad.

“So bad, like when they can’t hit the board or they can’t take out a thing. It goes on forever.

“If Mo Farah can’t hit the board Littler would just walk 13 miles and take out a leg in 35 seconds and keep going.”

The unusual scenario has sparked widespread debate online, with fans split over whether Farah’s incredible endurance could make up for Littler’s speed at the oche.
