LITTLER EXTENDS PREMIER LEAGUE LEAD WITH SIXTH NIGHTLY WIN

07/05/2026 By Aaron Nijjar

LUKE LITTLER is looking to keep top spot and break even more records after storming to victory on Night 14 of the Premier League in Leeds.

The Nuke claimed a hat-trick of nightly wins and equalled his own record of six nightly victories in a single campaign after edging past Luke Humphries 6-5 in a thrilling final.

The world No.1 had earlier battled back from a slow start against Michael van Gerwen to seal another dramatic 6-5 win, averaging 100.28 and producing a stunning 141 checkout.

Littler then repeated the scoreline in the semi-finals as he saw off Jonny Clayton to book his place in the decider.

The Warrington whizkid now sits FIVE points clear at the top of the table with just two nights of the regular season remaining.

He said: “A very good night. I think every game went to a last-leg decider apart from the first with Gezzy and Jonny, so they definitely got their money’s worth tonight.

“I am very happy with tonight and I can go on to break my own record. That was crucial for me, seeing Luke miss for the match and then me pouncing on it.

“I think throughout the game we pretty much held throw the whole game.

“When you go into a lead you are just focused on yourself, but if the players are matching it, it is a case of just holding your throw.

“I just have to keep going. Now my record is up for grabs and I can go and beat my own record.

“Even with the win against Jonny, I knew I was a few points clear, but I think I am in the clear now and I have to keep top spot.”

Clayton punished a dismal display from Gerwyn Price, who landed just two of his 12 attempts at doubles in a comfortable 6-2 defeat in their opener.

Meanwhile, Humphries edged past Josh Rock 6-5 in a nail-biting quarter-final encounter.

Humphries averaged a whopping 106.68 and survived three match darts to battle past Stephen Bunting 6-5 in the last four.

Bunting held his nerve to survive two match darts and snatch a dramatic 6-5 win over Gian van Veen in the last eight.
