DOETS SWITCHES WALK-ON AFTER TITLE WIN

KEVIN DOETS debuted a brand new walk-on song as he continued his red-hot form with victory at the Austrian Darts Open.
The Dutchman walked on to ‘Can’t Stop’ by Red Hot Chili Peppers for the first time before beating Chris Landman 6-3 in Graz to book his place in round two.
Hawkeye averaged an impressive 99.35 and landed six of his eight attempts at doubles as his superb streak continued.
The world No.35 has enjoyed a breakthrough year on the ProTour, winning his maiden ranking PDC title at Players Championship 13 earlier this week while also reaching the semi-finals of the German Darts Grand Prix.
And after swapping out ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ by Kiss, Doets admitted he is still searching for the perfect anthem.
He told Oche180: “‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ was alright but I always felt I could do better.
“I’m going to test out some songs and I like this one today. So I am going to try and use it tomorrow with more of a crowd.
“This has been in the talks with me and my family for a couple of months.
“I was never dissatisfied with my old one but also never had the feeling of, ‘this is the one I am going to have for the rest of my life.’
“We — I shouldn’t say we — my girlfriend has been through a lot of walk-on songs lately and we chose this one this weekend.
“We’ll see how the crowd reacts to it. If they react good we’re going to continue with it and if they don’t we’re going to look for another one.”
Doets returns to action on Saturday and will face Ryan Searle for a place in the last 16 at the Euro Tour event.
