NOPPERT OPENS UP ON TOILET HELL IN AUSTRIA

09/05/2026 By Aaron Nijjar

DANNY NOPPERT admits he has been glued to the toilet after being struck down by nasty stomach problems.

The Dutch ace battled through illness to edge past Alan Soutar 6-5 in a tense second-round thriller at the Austrian Darts Open.

The Freeze survived multiple match darts and averaged 91.29 as he scraped through in Graz.

But Noppert later confessed he has endured a miserable few days off the oche.

He said: “It’s been a battle. The last couple of days I’ve had some bad stomach [problems].

“A lot of problems on the toilet and less sleep.

“What I said before at the UK Open, but then it was from there [my mouth] and now it’s from behind. Not too much information.”

Noppert has enjoyed an impressive start to the year, reaching the quarter-finals of the UK Open and the World Masters.

The world No.9 also made the final of the German Darts Grand Prix as he continues to show strong form on the European Tour.

But Noppert is still searching for his first ranking title since lifting Players Championship Eight in 2024.

He returns to action on Sunday afternoon and will face Spaniard Cristo Reyes for a spot in the quarter-final.

Earlier in the day, Reyes produced a moment of magic as he fired in a sensational nine-dart finish during his 6-4 victory over Damon Heta.
