ASPINALL POOED PANTS AFTER PRANK FROM RIVAL

NATHAN ASPINALL admitted he “pooed his pants” after being left stunned by a bizarre prank from rival Leonard Gates.

The Stockport star said the American caught him completely off guard in the practice room, tapping him on the back before revealing himself in a Chewbacca mask.

The surprise came just moments before the pair headed for the stage at Ally Pally, but Aspinall quickly shook it off to do the damage where it mattered.

World No15 Aspinall swept Gates aside 3–0 in round two of the World Darts Championship, acknowledging he never quite hit top gear but was happy to get the job done.

He said: “I felt a lot better in my first game. Leonard is a lot better than that. I expected him to throw a bit more at me.

“But you know what, I am here to do a job. I won 3–0. I didn’t really produce my best stuff.

“I took my foot off the gas at 2–0 but a win is a win, and I am back after Christmas.

“I’ve won two games, and I dropped one set by playing pretty average.

“I’m enjoying my games on the stage and this crowd is unbelievable.”

‘The Asp’ then revealed just how badly the prank had rattled him in the build-up to the match.

He added: “Have you heard what he did in the practice room? He turned up, tapped me on the back, and he had a Chewbacca mask on.

“Honest to God, I can’t say it, but I pooed my pants. I was a bit scared. He is a great guy. I played him last year.”

Aspinall is now looking ahead to a tricky post-Christmas clash against Kevin Doets, admitting his rival already holds the psychological edge.

The Dutchman has won their last five meetings, with Aspinall’s only victory in the fixture coming back in 2019 at a Players Championship event.

He continued: “I want to put a show on and sometimes it is not that easy.

“Kevin is great and I don’t have a very good record against him, and I think he knows that because he has been talking to me in the hotel.

“But rest assured, I am going to enjoy Christmas with my family.”
