NATHAN ASPINALL has revealed how his new surprise walk-on remix fired him up as he cruised into round two of the German Darts Championship.

World No. 22 Aspinall made a bold change to his famous walk-on — starting with ‘Lose Yourself’ by Eminem before it dropped into his trademark ‘Mr Brightside’ by The Killers.

The intro clearly did the trick as ‘The Asp’ powered past Maximilian Czerwinski 6–3 in round one, averaging a superb 103.78 and nailing a sensational 160 checkout on his way to victory.

Aspinall, who now faces Ross Smith in the second round, admitted the fresh pre-match entrance gave him a real boost.

He said: “It really did get me pumped. Obviously, everyone loves Mr Brightside but I hear it 490 million times a year.

“I’m a massive Eminem fan and I wanted to put something a little different on at the start.

“The DJs are amazing on the Euro Tour, so who knows — we might introduce it to Sky and ITV.”

Two-times major winner Aspinall was also full of praise for his opponent, who pushed him all the way despite the scoreline.

He added: “Tonight was the first time I met Max and I love the guy.

“He said he has not been playing very well this year but he played bloody well then.

“Fair play to him, he played a fantastic game of darts. He never gave in.

“Even when I started off really strong, he kept fighting back and keep up with me.

“I respect players like that because that is what I am about. It was a great game, and he made me work.”

Stockport thrower Aspinall Aspinall has been in sensational form this year, winning two European Tour titles and reaching two Players Championship finals.

The 34-year-old has also flourished in the major events by making the quarter-final of the World Championship, World Masters and UK Open this year.
