CHISNALL INSISTS WEIGHT LOSS NOT BEHIND SLUMP

30/03/2026 By Aaron Nijjar

DAVE CHISNALL insist his dip in form has not been down to his dramatic weight loss.

The world No.23 endured a difficult 2025 campaign, failing to win a title or reach the quarter-finals of any ranked major event.

‘Chizzy’ also did not make a semi-final on the Euro Tour despite picking up EIGHT trophies on the circuit in his stellar career.

The St Helens thrower has also shed the pounds, with his trademark yellow jersey looking noticeably baggier in recent months.

But Chisnall revealed the real battle has been with his action and he has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to put it right.

He said: “I’ve been working on my throw. People think it’s because I have lost all the weight, but it’s not.

“If you’re struggling, which I have done for a good year, you don’t know what’s going to happen. You’ve got to work with it.

“When you’re playing so badly, like I have done for over a year, you’re not going to win [tournaments].

“I think the darts are coming true a little bit, I’m feeling confident in myself. I’ve been at this level for 16 years. I’ve been in the top 10, top eight for about 10 of them.

“I know I can do it, but it’s just learning curves.”

Chisnall has made a steady start to the year reaching the quarter-final of Players Championship Two and Five.

The six-time major finalist returned to action today at Players Championship Seven but fell in the second round to Benjamin Pratnemer.
