DURRANT OFFERED £5K TO STEAL RIVAL’S WALK-ON TUNE

GLEN DURRANT revealed he offered FIVE GRAND to steal Adrian Lewis’ walk-on song.
The former Premier League champ made the jump from the BDO to the PDC in 2019 and admitted he was still finding his feet on TV in front of bigger crowds.
‘Duzza’ used the same walk-on tune as Lewis during his time at Lakeside but was forced to change it after switching organisations.
Two-time world champion Lewis had “Reach Up” by Perfecto Allstarz as his entrance music during his time on the professional circuit.
Durrant was keen to snatch the tune off his rival for his own gain at the major events.
He told the Double Tops podcast: “I came over in 2019 with the same walk on as Aidy Lewis.
“Suddenly I’m on TV quite quickly because I win a couple of ProTours early doors. I hated my walk-on song.
“I had three or four within four months. I wanted Adrian’s. So I went to my manager, Mac Elkin, go and offer him five grand. Thank God he didn’t. Thank you.”
Lewis was having none of it and bluntly responded: “I said no chance.”
Durrant believes the perfect walk-on song can provide a psychological edge at the oche and even enhance a player’s performance.
He added: “I think a walk-on song can give you 1%. We’ve seen some powerful walk-ons.
“I think so. I never had the same feeling. I can’t remember my other walk-on songs that I had. That’s the one I wanted. It’s a good one. I wanted it off Aidy.”
