GREAVES OPEN TO PLAYING IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

BEAU GREAVES has revealed she’d jump at the chance to play in the Premier League if the PDC came calling next year.

Five-time World Champ Raymond van Barneveld tipped the women’s world No1 to feature in the major next year if she has a big run at Ally Pally this winter.

Doncaster thrower Greaves has earned a two-year Tour Card for the 2026–27 campaigns and is now on course to capture the World Youth Championship title after a sensational semi-final victory over Luke Littler.

Greaves admits she was delighted to receive praise from ‘Barney’ and says she would love to feature in the invitational tournament.

She said: “It’s just nice – they don’t have to say that sort of stuff. It’s sweet for me.

“I watched all these players growing up.

“I can’t imagine I would get in the Premier League unless I had a crazy run but I wouldn’t say no!

“But maybe it’s a bit much for me. It would make it exciting, wouldn’t it?

“People go on about the Premier League being flat and boring, I always end up watching it every week.

“It would be amazing to play in it. I don’t think I deserve it. It’s nice that people say good things about me.”

‘Beau ‘n’ Arrow will now face Michael van Gerwen in her opening match at the Grand Slam of Darts.

Back in October 2017, MVG bluntly replied “no” to a fan on social media who asked whether he believed a woman could ever compete at the same level as the top male players.

Greaves responded: “To be honest I don’t read much. I said that a few years ago as well. We’ve both said the same thing!

“Some of the men don’t like playing women. Some don’t care.

“Since getting my Tour Card I’ve had a bit more belief. I know I can beat anybody. I’ve got the game for it, it’s just doing it at the right time.

“I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself, I’m just going to enjoy it. Who else would you rather play?”

The 21-year-old says beating seven-time major winner Littler also catapulted her to new heights of popularity in the mainstream media.

She continued: “Yeah, it was great — it was a great game. But to me, it’s just another darts match, you know?

“Luke didn’t miss much, I didn’t miss much — we were both in the zone. He was sound after it; it was just a good game.

“Obviously, I saw all the stuff online afterwards, and yeah, I’ve benefited from it — even just from that one game.

“Beating Luke has definitely got me more out there and helped build my following. I enjoyed the game — I fancied getting to the final because I’d been playing well all day.

“I thought I had a good chance, but obviously he’s extremely tough to beat. Somehow, I just did it — you play, and you win.”
