LEWIS EYES RETURN AFTER DRAMATIC WEIGHT LOSS
19/03/2026 By Aaron Nijjar
ADRIAN LEWIS has lost more than THREE stone in his bid to win a third world title.
‘Jackpot’ stepped away from professional darts in 2023 to focus on family life.
The four-time major winner’s wife Sarah has been living with an incurable kidney disease, while his son has autism and ADHD, which led to Lewis prioritising time at home.
But the Stoke-on-Trent thrower is ready to return to the tour after working on himself and undergoing a dramatic body transformation.
Lewis revealed he has been exercising more and following a clean diet, including cutting out alcohol.
He told the Double Tops podcast: “The aim is to make a comeback.
“Over the last 14 months, I’ve lost three-and-a-half stone by walking more, eating better and staying away from the booze.
“I need to be fighting fit when I do return to the tour and I want to enjoy it. I feel ready now.”
“After 20 years I think I just needed a break and I’m ready to enjoy it again. I don’t care about the money, it’s all about the trophies for me.
“On the exhibition circuit I’m still very competitive and I beat plenty of the Premier League players regularly, so the ability is still there I’d like to think.
“If I was playing well enough, I don’t think I could say no to the Premier League again but the real reason I’m coming back is to become a three-time world champion.”
Lewis has enjoyed a stellar career, including lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy back-to-back in 2011 and 2012.
The 41-year-old has also tasted success at the UK Open and the European Championship.
