Lewis slams trolls as “worst animals”

FORMER world semi-finalist Jamie Lewis says he has quit Twitter after being trolled by the “worst animals”.
The Welsh ace competed in the Modus Live League during the week but has once again been on the receiving from online abuse.
Lewis, 29, has struggled in the sport since losing out to Phil Taylor at the Alexandra Palace just over three years ago.
He stated on Twitter earlier: “I’ve had some horrible messages this week makes you think how bad our species really is… and to the ones constantly sending me messages saying I was throwing matches this week I wouldn’t do something like that in a million years.. the worst animals out there are human beings. Leaving twitter guys for my own mental health.”
Glen Durrant, who is himself suffering with a nightmare Premier League run of five straight defeats, leapt to the defence of the likeable player.
He said: This is very difficult to read about a genuine young nice man. He’s the same person that I’m sure you waxed lyrical about in that amazing worlds run. Support the lad.”
