LITTLER CHASING £3MILLION HISTORY

LUKE LITTLER could be just 54 days from being the first-ever darts record-breaking £3MILLION man.
The world champion is closing in on yet another milestone if he can take glory in the World Masters, UK Open and tour events.
Littler, 18, has flown out to the Middle East for the first two World Series invitationals in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia on January 15/16 and 19/20.
The Nuke currently stands on £2,770,500 after winning the £1million jackpot at the Ally Pally. Neither of the forthcoming World Series tournaments count on his ranking money.
But if he ticks off the World Masters in Milton Keynes on February 1 that will pick him up a further £100,000. Then he would need to win the Players Championship events in Wigan on February 16/17 (£15k per day) or take glory in the Poland Open (£35k) on February 22.
To cap it all then take victory in the UK Open on March 8 with the £120,000 prize. That would take him over the magical £3m threshold.
On taking that latest record, Littler admitted: “Obviously it could be fairly soon, I’ve got to keep playing well and keep adding the prize money to my rankings.
“I just want to stay at No.1 as long as possible. Try to get to that £3million and increase that gap between me and Luke.”
On winning the million at the Ally Pally, he said: “It is life-changing.
“Even for this tournament, the first round was doubled.
“This win has increased that gap from Luke Humphries and I’m in the clear for No.1.”
