LITTLER LEAPS TO FERNANDES DEFENCE AFTER KEANE ROW

LUKE LITTLER insists Bruno Fernandes is not “really bothered” by criticism from Roy Keane.
The teen sensation leapt to the defence of the Manchester United captain following the pair’s latest public bust-up over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Fernandes had labelled Keane a liar after the former United skipper claimed he prioritised personal glory over the team.
But lifelong Red Devils fan Littler believes Fernandes simply ignores the noise and lets his football do the talking.
He told talkSPORT: “I don’t think he is really bothered.
“I saw he spoke to someone about it and said Roy should not have said it or that he was in the wrong.
“Bruno just does his talking on the pitch.
“He lets his left foot and right foot do the talking.”
Littler also defended Fernandes’ emotional side on the pitch and says that mentality is exactly what you want from a captain.
He added: “He might moan a bit at the ref but he is the captain, he is going to want to win every challenge.
“As a captain you have to be a leader and win those crucial tackles and stuff like that.”
Fernandes enjoyed another outstanding campaign for United and broke the Premier League assist record after registering 21 assists during the 2025-26 season.
His performances helped United seal a third-place finish and a return to the Champions League.
Littler also pointed to the players around Fernandes when discussing the playmaker’s record-breaking numbers.
He said: “I mean if [Benjamin] Sesko, [Matheus] Cunha or [Bryan] Mbuemo is not bagging then he is not getting the assists.
“As long as they’re scoring I’m sure he would have broken the record and that is what he has done.”
