LUKE LITTLER hit a sensational nine-darter after predicting it on Instagram just eight hours earlier!

The teen sensation delivered the perfect leg on the way to beating Michael van Gerwen 6-4 in the Premier League final in Cardiff.

Earlier in the day he joked on social media with referee Owen Binks that he’d hit a nine with a 60, 51 and double 15 finish.

Then he produced it to send the Cardiff wild in an epic final against MVG. He becomes the third player to win the £30,000 gold darts from title sponsor BetMGM.

Littler, who averaged 112.50 in the final, said: “I’ve been playing very well. I’ve had a week off to chill.

“To come here and win, six points clear. I’m comfortable.

“I had no idea the nine was in. I just had to wait for Huw to call it. You could see my face there, it was like ‘is it, is it?’

“Just want to get to the O2 as quick as possible.”

The final opened with three breaks of throw and Littler led 2-1.

Then came the stunning nine-darter with a double 15 finish to send Cardiff wild. It still remained a tight contest until Littler finally got clear with a barrage of big scoring.

Rob Cross produced the most special moment in the quarter-finals.

There was a Sky Sports feature on Gerwyn Price running his chippy.

In the match, Voltage led Gerwyn Price but the Welshman fought back to force a decider. But just when The Iceman looked set to progress, Cross delivered a sublime 170 Big Fish finish to beat the chip shop owner!

Stephen Bunting’s miserable run continued with a seventh successive defeat to Chris Dobey.

Luke Humphries threw away a lead to lose out to Van Gerwen and Littler comfortably beat Nathan Aspinall.
