LITTLER SLAMMED FOR “BORING” JIBE AT DE DECKER

LUKE LITTLER has come under fire from Vincent van der Voort after sparking fury with his “boring” comments about Mike De Decker at the World Grand Prix.
World No. 2 Littler cruised past the Belgian 3-0 in their second-round clash but caused outrage afterwards by describing the match as “a bit boring”.
‘The Nuke’ barely broke sweat in Leicester, even toying with his opponent by aiming for the bullseye on 50 and cheekily finishing 91 with bull, 1 and tops
Former pro Van der Voort believes Littler showed a lack of respect towards ‘The Real Deal’.
He said: “That’s just a tap on the chin you give someone like De Decker.
“You don’t have to say that. It’s inappropriate and not very respectful.”
Pundit Damian Vlottes added: “De Decker seemed to be done with Littler for a while.”
Van der Voort felt Littler’s remarks were unfair given De Decker’s recent form and past performances against him.
He continued: “At the Grand Slam, Littler actually needed the crowd to beat De Decker.
“And then to make comments like that about someone who won a tournament just last year – putting him down like that, I don’t like it.
“But at the same time, it adds a bit of spice. Hopefully De Decker will take that personally and go into their next match with fire in his belly.
“There’s no shame in De Decker losing heavily to Littler, he’s just unbelievably good right now.”
Teen sensation Littler went on to succeed De Decker as World Grand Prix champion, thrashing Luke Humphries 6–1 in a dominant final to claim his SEVENTH major title.
