LUKE LITTLER has stoked the flames ahead of his Premier League showdown with Luke Humphries next week in Aberdeen.

‘The Nuke’ mocked his rival’s beloved Leeds United after they were promoted to the Premier League and predicted an “easy six points” for his own Manchester United next season.

Teen sensation Littler sits top of the table with 36 points—nine clear of world No.1 Humphries who is in second after reaching six nightly finals.

World champion Littler has already secured a record five nightly wins this season and is eyeing the all-time points record of 40, which he currently shares with Jonny Clayton.

Warrington thrower Littler will face Humphries on Night 15 at The Event Complex in Scotland.

Despite their fierce rivalry on the oche, the two Lukes share a mutual respect.

But that didn’t stop Littler from poking fun at Humphries’ football loyalties.

He said: “He’s been chuffed to bits with them [Leeds] coming back up.

“I just said to him ‘you’re going back down next year mate, enjoy it while you can’.

“We just love playing each other, the pace and quality of it.”

When asked about United’s upcoming games against Leeds, Littler quipped: “Easy six points.”

On the dartboard, Littler leads their head-to-head 11-8, though Humphries has won two of their last four meetings.

Both players have won two majors apiece of the last four on the darting calendar showing their recent dominance on the oche.

World No. 2 Littler revealed earlier in the year he was looking to dethrone Humphries from the top of the PDC Order of Merit.

He admitted: “Luke Humphries has a lot to defend. So, maybe I could get to World No.1. This year I’m not defending any prize money.

“We all know Luke has the capabilities to go and defend all that he won two years back.

“I’m hoping I can either stop him or other players do – so I can get to No.1.”

Up next though for Littler is a bout against Nathan Aspinall on night 14 of the Premier League this Thursday in Leeds.

And Littler can expect a hostile reaction from the crowd after his recent comments.
