LITTLER WEIGHS UP PRO TOUR FUTURE

LUKE LITTLER has questioned whether he even needs to return to the PDC Pro Tour.
World No.1 Littler admits he is weighing up his options, despite the convenience of events being held close to home.
‘The Nuke’ has already claimed four floor titles and lifted the Players Championship Finals trophy, despite being on the tour for just two years.
Littler has raised a question about what he has to gain from the circuit.
He told the Double Tops Podcast: “The Pro Tour is something I might look at, but I have won the Players Championship so is there a reason for me to go back?
“Wigan is only 25 minutes down the road for me, so I might do those ones and if I qualify then I’ve got a decision as to whether I want to go back down to Minehead.”
The teenage sensation has already lifted 12 major crowns, but the European Championship remains the one prize to elude him and is his main priority this season.
He added: “The Premier League is obviously up there in terms of my priorities this year, but it is a grind and it does take its toll on us.
“When the Premier League does finish it’s a bit of a relief because it’s a hard, old slog. Once it’s done in a few weeks, I can focus on the other majors and of course I’ve got my eyes on all of them.
“The European Championships is the one I really want to win. That’s the one that’s got my attention and it’s the one I want to tick off the list.”
The Warrington Whizkid made the final of the World Championship at Ally Pally on his debut at just 16 years of age.
Ethan Payne, better known as Behzinga and a co-founder of the Sidemen, was a guest on the show and revealed Littler wanted a photo with him at the Premier event.
He said: “He asked to meet me. The very first World Championships he was part of, I got a tap on the shoulder from one of the security guards and he told me that Luke [Littler] really wanted to meet me.
“I was absolutely bemused by it and did think he might have been joking around, but he took me backstage where I met Luke on some steps. He was just like ‘you alright mate?’
“He knew I was there and said he’d been watching us. He wanted a picture with me but given the fact he was blowing up, we had to do it backstage. It was a pretty cool moment.”
