MANBY SHRUGS OFF PRESSURE AS BABY NEWS DROPS

CHARLIE MANBY insists he is feeling no extra pressure despite a baby on the way and his darts career taking off.
The 20-year-old rising star is juggling life on and off the oche after revealing he is expecting his first child with girlfriend Tia, due in October.
But the former bricklayer, who has since ditched his day job to focus fully on the sport, says any weight of expectation comes from within.
Manby is determined to keep his focus sharp as he looks to climb the ranks in the professional game.
He told Oche 180: “People might think there might be a bit of pressure, but the pressure I feel is only what I put on myself.
“So other people might put pressure on me, but as long as I don’t feel it, I will be fine.
“I have to keep pushing, and when I am at darts, just think about darts — that’s it.
“Climb up the rankings, picking the money up — that is all I can do really.
“I just want to keep pushing on and qualify for a few Euro Tours, maybe a couple of majors, and just climb up the rankings and gain experience.”
‘Champagne Charlie’, has signed a multi-year contract with leading darts manufacturer Target following a stunning breakthrough campaign.
The Huddersfield thrower currently holds the Dev Tour record for the highest single-match average, hitting a staggering 130.70 in February 2025 against Patrick Williams.
World No.93 Manby underlined his credentials by reaching the fourth round of the World Championship, where he was beaten by Ally Pally finalist Gian van Veen.
Manby secured his PDC Tour Card at the start of the season and has gone from strength to strength since, reaching the quarter-finals of Players Championship events seven and eight.
