PRICE HUNTS TENTH EURO TOUR CROWN

14/03/2026 By Aaron Nijjar

GERWYN PRICE warned the rest of the field the European Darts Trophy is his to lose after crushing Joe Cullen.

‘The Iceman’ fired in a stunning 106 average to claim a 6-2 victory over Cullen and book his place in the third round in Göttingen.

World No.9 Price is searching for his TENTH European Tour title and is in great form having reached back-to-back major semi-finals.

Price believes his opponents always bring their best against him, and he knew he had to deliver a strong performance.

He said: “I felt like I was playing well. The crowd was right behind me. I felt like Joe was playing really well.

“It was probably the best he has played in a long time. That happens against me every single time, so I was expecting it.

“I was on my game. I usually bring the best out of everyone. But I don’t worry about them. I am fully focused and concentrated on my own game.

“It was another good performance, and if I can build on that and get better, I think this tournament is mine.”

The Markham thrower now faces a tricky test against Danny Noppert on Sunday afternoon for a place in the quarter-finals.

He added: “Danny is a great player. We have had some good battles, and he is only getting better and better.

“He has shown that over the last 12-18 months, and he is improving massively. I need to be on my A-game and play even better than I did today.

“It is going to be a tough one.”
