VAN GERWEN LOCKED DARTS LEGEND IN TOILET!

BOBBY GEORGE revealed Michael van Gerwen once stitched him up by filming him smoking and locking him in a toilet!
The former Lakeside finalist reckons the Dutchman would fit right in with the characters of darts’ golden era.
‘Bobby Dazzler’ shared the stage with five-time world champion Eric Bristow and legend John Lowe during the sport’s heyday in the 1970s and 1980s.
George reckons MVG has the personality to match them on and off the oche.
He told Winmau: “Michael is a very humorous sort of guy. I’ll give you an example. Michael said to me, ‘Grandad, I’ll give you my new number.
“I said alright, so I gave him my phone. I said go on, do it. Two weeks later he says, ‘You never phoned me, Grandad.’
“I said, ‘You didn’t put it in the phone. How am I going to phone you if I don’t have your number?’
“He says, ‘I did, Grandad. I’ll show you.’ You know what, he has put it under B. B for best in the world.
“Smoking is another thing. My wife didn’t like me smoking, but I would have a cunning fag.
“He said, ‘Grandad, have a fag, come out with me.’ I said alright. She knew what I was doing.
“He lit the fag up and he’s talking, and I am talking to someone like that. I’ve gone in and sat down in the players’ room.
“He calls my missus Marie. He said, ‘I have to show you something. Look at Grandad.’
“He filmed me smoking the b****** and he told her! He’s filmed it and said, ‘Look at that.’
“She said, ‘You have been smoking today!’ Little things like that.”
George added the pranks kept coming, revealing Van Gerwen even trapped him in a lavatory and tampered with his arrows during practice.
He said: “The toilet might be, you go through a door and cut across outside because you can’t get there due to the crowds.
“He locked the door so I can’t get back in. Another thing he did, I had my darts when I used to play.
“I picked them up and had a throw. What he did was change the flights so I was playing with his!
“I didn’t even notice. He can mix in. I think he has got a good character.”
