BAGGISH PAYS EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE TO LATE SON AFTER WIN

DANNY BAGGISH honoured his late son after securing victory on his Modus Super Series debut.

The Gambler suffered a heartbreaking loss when his child sadly passed away due to cancer in late 2025 at just 19 months old.

The American had a four-year break from the sport but marked his return by topping Group A of the Modus Super Series.

Baggish defeated Jeff Smith 4-1 at the Live Lounge to advance into the finals which commence on Saturday.

The 42-year-old showed a picture of his late son to the camera as he fought back tears when celebrating his win.

Baggish was asked about the emotional moment and struggled to get his words out.

He wiped away tears as he told MODUS just how much the triumph meant to him: “So much. I’m sorry.”

Baggish regained composure and added: “It meant a lot, but I felt it when I got to three legs. I felt the emotions take over a little bit so I had to take a deep breath back there.

“I think last night was the first night I started thinking about back home and stuff. So for a good hour, I was a wreck last night.

“You have to keep it in, you have a job to do. You’ve got to do what you came here to do and you hold it in until there’s a time to release that.

“I have always been an emotional player, but this is different. The moment I hit that double tops, it was a lot of relief and thoughts, appreciation and love came out.”

Baggish held a PDC Tour Card from 2021 to 2022 and competed in the World Championship on three occasions, with his best run ending in a third-round finish.
